The one time I met yin of yin

For those of you who don’t know who Yin of Yin was: think of the meanest, nastiest and most evil character you can think of. Now multiply it by at least 1000 and you get an idea of who he was.
He was the source of all evil and the creator of this matrix.

The matrix is all about collecting essence and energy for Yin of Yin. There are different groups of density, each group has their own mission and techniques for collecting essence. Every 100 years, there was an event that happened to see which group gathered the most essence. This was one of the few occasions when Yin of Yin showed himself to the masses.

Preparing for this event was quite stressful. Everyone is afraid that Yin of Yin won’t like it. I have heard stories about how he once destroyed the entire area because the setup turned out too pretty, too feminine. He hated it and completely freaked out. He punished the majority of the density who showed up for the event because in his eyes everyone was responsible for it.

These events were held not only to honor the best, they were also an opportunity for him to identify the worst. He would punish the ones who collected the least in front of everyone to set an example of what happens when you disappoint him.

If someone had not improved since the last event, he would punish them as well, since in his eyes that was considered a failure. He seemed to welcome every opportunity to punish and spread fear of disappointing him.

I attended one of these events with the coven I belonged to. It wasn’t because I was doing such great work and was allowed to attend as a reward; the only purpose of my being there was to be a scapegoat in case the mother witch or someone in the coven would get punishment. Lucky for me, another group received the punishment, so I was spared.

Not wanting to interact with anyone at the event, I stayed away from the crowd and observed.

Yin of Yin was praised by everyone while he looked down at them with disgust. I quickly learned that he is not a fair guy and always takes more than he says he will. Everyone seemed mesmerized by his words and his presence. So much so that they didn’t realize he was taking their essence. Some felt it and accused someone in the crowd of stealing their essence. They started fighting because it wouldn’t even cross their minds that it could have been Yin of Yin who stole the energy. Others, like me, saw what was going on but were too afraid to say something. The majority were so blind that they didn’t notice anything, but I’m pretty sure they felt more depleted than they should have after the event.

The honor & punishment part is quite intense but it doesn’t last for too long. Afterwards, everyone seemed to forget about it and party like there was no tomorrow. The event lasted five days.

Yin of Yin would leave quickly, those lowly creatures were not worth his time. He doesn’t really care who is the best, because the level these groups belong to isn’t at the top of the pyramid. However, it is quite a large group, and he does care about the essence they gather. Therefore, he holds this event and gives them crumbs to make them feel special. He creates the illusion that, with hard work, they could make it to the top of the pyramid and work closely with him, while knowing that that’s never going to happen.

You might think that it was never going to happen because he hated everyone and wouldn’t allow anyone to be on top of the pyramid, next to him or anywhere close? Yes, that was one reason.

But the real reason is that he doesn’t exist anymore and the pyramid is falling apart. How and why that happened, you’ll read in another story.
